So…what is compounding?
Most medications are mass-produced. Compounding offers more flexibility—because your formulations can be crafted for you, not the masses.
With compounding, we can customize your medication's ingredients and dosage form (capsules, troches, injections, creams, ointments, suppositories, etc.). We can combine multiple medications, eliminate common allergens, address multiple health concerns with a single formulation, or tailor your dose rather than delivering only rigid, one-size-fits-all options.

What standards does Strive follow?
Strive’s operating and compounding processes adhere to state and federal regulations, and we also go far above and beyond regulatory standards to ensure quality compounded medications.

- Vetting all of our vendors and pharmaceutical ingredients through a rigorous qualification process.
- Frequently testing active ingredients and finished compounded products via third-party analytical assessment for sterility, potency, and endotoxins.
- Continuous training for all Strive compounding staff to demonstrate full competency and cultivate mastery in their roles.

Will insurance cover my compounded medications?
Some insurance companies cover compounded medication, some don't, and others decide on a case-by-case basis. However, compounded medications are frequently cheaper out-of-pocket anyway because insurance companies use a tiered system to determine what and how much they'll cover.
Sometimes, working with your healthcare provider to get a longer day supply for your prescription can also help cut costs. A lot of work goes into compounding medications, so a 60—or 90-day supply is efficient and could save you money in the long run.

Does compounding work for children’s medications?
Compounding can make a big difference when it comes to children's medications. It's not fun for anyone when kids have to suffer through medication they hate. At Strive, not only do we take sensitivities and preexisting needs seriously, but we can also affect application method, form, and flavor, so taking medication is a more pleasant experience.
What about pets?
Yes! Your furry family members have sensitivities and preferences just like we do! If they hate their medication, they might spit it out or resist medications, but compounding means we have more options, including making medications taste better or easier to disguise.
